FET & GET: Learnerships, Skills Programmes & Short Learning Programmes

Committed to the creation of skills and employment.

Most South African employers site the shortage of skilled staff as one of their main business challenges. For this reason and our high unemployment rate, national skills development programmes such as learnerships are vital to the strength of our economy.

A contract between a learner, an employer and an accredited training provider, combines practical on-the-job training with appropriate theoretical learning giving the successful learners not only a recognised formal qualification but the advantage of working experience; both valuable assets when entering the job market.

In partnership with many of South Africa’s blue chip clients, PMI project manages over 7000 learnerships annually, making significant strides in the national skills development agenda.

For clients who partner with PMI in the facilitation of learnerships, the benefits are many:

  • Positive impact on work performance, employment equity, skills development, transformation and succession planning,
  • Business benefits from the capitalisation of tax breaks, discretionary funding and cost saving initiatives linked to spend with impact on BBBEE,
  • Powerful acquisition and retention strategies,
  • Case studies show improved confidence, attitude, quality of work and career growth opportunities as well as real cost savings.

PMI offers a customised delivery methodology – full programme development and / or RPL, which can be further adapted to suit the operational requirements of our clients.
